BB Drifters

The Drifters were assembled in mid 1953 to showcase the immense talents of Clyde McPhatter, one of the first lead vocalists to realize the advantage and value of live showmanship with his trademark knee drops and deep back bends. Reorganized In 1958 and several times throughout the years, many talented performers have drifted in and out of the original Drifters.

The group has toured the world bringing its unique blend of rhythm, soul and spectacular dance moves to audiences across the globe. The Drifters linked 50’s rhythm and blues with 60’s soul music. The Drifters domination of the music scene throughout the 50’s and the 60’s seems difficult to comprehend considering the staggering number of lineup changes in the group from its inception in 1953 to the present.
